It is very much fascinating to all the users of single board computers that to make them updated about the new boards.

When it comes to this domain of single board computers, Raspberry Pi play a major role, since it is most powerful, compact and cheapest as compared to other boards.

  So, now it is wonderful opportunity to all of you to know about the two most recent  boards other than the Raspi……..


  • BeagleBone Black Rev C

         If you liked the BeagleBone Black Rev B, you will love the Rev C! The Rev C still has a blistering 1GHz processor and 512MB onboard DDR3 RAM and like the rev B it has a AM3358 microprocessor, two 46-pin headers, micro HDMI for audio/video output, USB ports, 10/100 Ethernet and other I/O features. The Rev C is an ultra-powered embedded computer that can fit in a mint tin.

Of course the BeagleBone Black Rev C is an open board so if you want to load it back up with Angstrom or other Linux-based distributions like Ubuntu or Android, you can.

The rev C comes with a mini-B cable for powering it up ASAP. No microSD card is included as the BBB has onboard flash storage - and no SD card loading is required to get started.

And it is more advanced and is more advanced version of single board computer that is an alternative to raspberry pi with advanced features.

  • BeagleBoard  X15

BeagleBoard – X15 is the top performing, machine Linux enabled and it has highspeed interface for every connectivity required. It is designed with TI AM5728  1.5 GHz ARM Cortex – A15 processor that works with high speed processing of the information and enable the user to get the work done faster. This board costs about 239$.

Some of the specifications of the BeagleBoard  X15 are :

  • Huawei HiKey 960

The HiKey 960 development platform is based around the Huawei Kirin 960 octa-core ARM® big.LITTLE™ processor with four ARM Cortex®-A73 and four Cortex-A53 cores with 3GB of LPDDR4 SDRAM memory, 32GB of UFS 2.0 flash storage, and the latest generation Mali™ G71 MP8 graphics processor.

This board is developed by the company named Huawei and this board is the latest updated board with all the requirements and is in competition with the Raspiberry Pi. This board costs about 239$.


  •  ODROID-XU4

ODROID-XU4 is a new generation of computing device with more powerful, more energy-efficient hardware and a smaller form factor. Offering open source support, the board can run various flavors of Linux, including the latest Ubuntu 16.04 and Android 4.4 KitKat, 5.0 Lollipop and 7.1 Nougat. This board costs about 49$.

  • NANOPC – T3

The NanoPC-T3 Plus is a super tiny Octa core cortex-A53 ARM board . It uses Samsung's S5P6818 SoC and has onboard 2G DDR3 RAM and 8G/32GB eMMC Flash. It has a Gbps Ethernet, HDMI port, USB2.0 ports, 3.5mm audio jack and onboard WiFi. It has two camera interfaces and two independent LCD interfaces. Its GPIOs are compatible with RPI's GPIO.

The NanoPC-T3 Plus has an MCU based power management system with timer setting for power on/off and supports dynamic voltage control with good performance and reliability. FriendlyElec provides image files of FriendlyCore, and Android for it. A FriendlyCore image has Qt-5.9 and OpenGL ES1.1/2.0 and supports video playing with hardware decoding / encoding. It is a good choice for rapidly developing products for applications distributed computing , artificial intelligence and embedded systems. This board costs about 75$.
